Locations

We serve clients throughout the states of Washington and Alaska, with most located in the Puget Sound region including Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia, Tacoma, Everett and Bellingham.  In Alaska, most clients are in the Anchorage area, but we travel as needed to meet the needs clients in Southeast Alaska including Juneau, Wrangell, Ketchikan and Sitka.

J. W. Talbot Bio Information

Jim Talbot is a 1986 graduate of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, where he majored in economics. After graduation, he lived and studied in Kyoto, Japan before returning to Seattle and obtaining a masters degree in international studies from the University of Washington in 1989. He attended the University of Washington School of Law where he obtained his J.D. in 1992. His first position out of law school was with Perkins Coie, where he was a member of the litigation group. He is licensed to practice in state and federal court in both Washington and Alaska.


Outside of the office, Jim enjoys downhill skiing in the winter, and sailing the inland waters of Western Washington in the summer.


Specific Projects

Life Sciences. For our life sciences clients, we assist with all aspects of bringing new drugs to market, assisting clients through Phase I, Phase II and Phase three studies with the FDA. Typical projects include:

    • Drafting nondisclosure agreements.
    • Business formation, including new businesses, mergers and acquisitions.
    • Contract drafting, including independent contractor agreements, master services agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment agreements and new venture proposals.
    • Intellectual property protection, including licensing agreements and trade secrets protection agreements.

Construction Law. For our clients in the construction industry, we work with all aspects of public and private construction law. Typical projects include:

    • Contract drafting and negotiation. -Enforcement of lien rights

    • Working with subcontractors and general contractors to maximize bargaining power.
